Happy Halloween

Fairy Trista

Trista getting the pumpkin brains out

Halloween weekend was a blast this year. We were unable to go on our annual trip to Dallas this year. So we made it fun at home. During the week Trista had her school parade & parties. While Alysha & Victoria had dress up days at school. Friday, our church always has a Trunk or Treat for the kids. It was wonderful seeing al the costumes & spending time with friends. That evening we went to our neighbors house for a pumpkin carving party. The kids all got their hands messy with pumpkin brains and drew faces for daddy to carve out. The best quote of the night (9pm) came from Alysha, "Mom, when does this party end?"

Zoo Boo & Dinosaurs

So that ended our night out. Saturday, We went to the zoo. The dinosaurs were the only things the girls wanted to see. Until I told them about the halloween activites & train. Let's just say it was a long day at Herman Park. I think Halloween night will be our quite night at home. ; 0 )
Happy Halloween!

Austin City Limits Festival 2010

As a TRUE Austinite & a FAN of music, I just had to experience ACL. Why did it take me so long???
Oh yeah, I have three kids and a husband who does not like crowds. But this year was special, our 10 year anniversary!! I actually was able to do something I wanted to do!! We had a blast. I can't put into words what its like. It's an event that is one of a kind. I have never been to a more "GREEN" event ever. We were there when the gates opened to the theme song of Star Wars and stayed till the closing act. I have the sun burn to prove it. We started out watching Grace Potter & The Nocturnal, who were AWESOME! Took in some Hip Hop/ Rap with NinjaSonik, which are a very funny group. Then The Gaslight Anthem, Silversun Pickups, LCD Soundsystem, DeadMau5 & Muse. It was an amazing day. I just love music and dancing, that sometimes I think I don't feed that side of myself very often. Food Note- I had my very first Mighty Cone. It was very good. And to drink.....SWEET LEAF TEA! Yes, it is my fav. It's an Austin thing cause no one around here drinks it. You can take the girl out of Austin but you can't take Austin out of the girl. Which means nothing shocks me. I've seen it ALL. To the 60 yr old man in the mini floral skirt with a mini black tutu for evening, wear them proud and loud! To conclude my longest blog ever, I was at home and that always puts a smile on my face. I feel I can be myself and so can everyone else.

Oct 7, 2000 Our Wedding Day

Some say rain on a wedding day is good luck. How about super cold rain in OCTOBER? How about having the brides dad leave in an ambulance?  I think it means good luck with a side of funny. Don't worry my dad is fine. It just shows that you should always expect the unexpected. One thing I know for sure is you can't get this far without laughing. Scott and the girls make me laugh everyday. You know, that I just pee'd my pants laugh. It makes our love grow bigger everyday. Thank You God for blessing me with Scott. Your blessings make me a better person.

Trista is 5 years old!

Five years ago, Trista came into our lives with a big storm named Hurricane Rita. We evacuated to Dallas because this was our 1st Hurricane since moving to Houston. It was a few weeks till my due date and I was not going to risk anything. On the morning we were going to head back home I went into labor. Ever since then she has been a storm of her own in this family. I have many nicknames for her; moving package baby, hurricane baby, babycakes but my favorite is My Daughter.

The Mustang is Back!

The mustang is back and running again. Or as I like to say, the girlfriend is back in the garage. These are some of the pictures Scott took of her today. He hand washed his baby. While the kids washed my "momvan". Lets just say the "momvan"still needs to go to the car wash.

Labor Day 2010 @ The LBJ Ranch

This year my side of the family, The Garcia's, spent labor day weekend at the LBJ Ranch. We had a wonderful time in the most beautiful and peaceful place in Texas. Being a city kid, I had so much fun walking on the land and seeing the grasshoppers jump. Scott just laughed at me & said you really are from the city. My kids wore their boots everyday! It was great to let them run, play and be free with out having to worry about their safety. OK we were behind three security gates but still it was great not to worry. We made so many memories and took so many photos that will last a lifetime.

Victoria is 9 years old!!

Wow! Has it been 9 years? I can remember the day she was born. I had been in labor for a very long time, about two days. My mom & my sister Mariela were there with Scott and & I when Victoria Marisol arrived. She was so small about 6 lbs. and 21 inches. I held her in my arms the whole time we were in the hospital. She has changed my life in so many ways, that it's o.k she is a daddy's girl.
